Stock shortages were a major issue for the Nintendo Switch last year.
This disincentivised retailers from offering big discounts on the product as they were having no issue pushing stock out the door thanks to the high demand for the console.
These stock issues are basically non-existent in 2022, meaning bigger and better discounts can be expected.
In fact, some discounts that dwarf those seen last Black Friday are available right now.
Last Black Friday, you were lucky to find the Nintendo Switch OLED edition available at any kind of discount. Now, you can get it for over $100 off the asking price at eBay.

If you only plan to use the handheld functionality of the Nintendo Switch, you'd be silly not to save some cash by opting for the more affordable Nintendo Switch Lite edition.

The Nintendo Switch has a number of different models for you to wrap your head around. Let's run them down so you know exactly what you're buying this Black Friday.
The base model of Nintendo Switch is your bog standard edition. It can connect to your TV and play games on it or be used in handheld mode. It features a 6.2-inch LCD touch screen.
The Nintendo Switch OLED edition boasts a 7-inch OLED touch screen. OLED screens are considered by many to be the best on the market.
Unlike LCD screens, OLED varieties do not feature a backlight. Instead, each pixel acts as a light source unto itself.
This leads to superior picture quality, especially when it comes to representing blacks. While LCD screens must shutter the backlight to create blacks, OLED screens simply turn off pixels to produce a pure black.
The OLED model also features 64GB of storage compared to the 32GB of the standard model.
The Lite edition is essentially the handheld mode of the standard Switch boiled down into its own console. It cannot be plugged into a TV.
That means it can only be used to play games that support handheld mode, unless you purchase external joy-cons which can be used to connect wirelessly to the device.
The Nintendo Switch Lite features a 5.5-inch LCD touch screen and 32GB of storage.

For those not in the know, Black Friday is one of the biggest sales events of the year. It takes place annually on the first Friday following the US holiday Thanksgiving. This year, that day is 25 November.
With the rise of online shopping, Black Friday has broken free of its borders and is now a worldwide phenomenon. Expect enormous savings on tech, fashion, homewares, appliances, beauty and just about any other product category you can think of.
Another date to keep in mind is 28 November, Cyber Monday. This accompanying event is basically an excuse for retailers to keep sales running all weekend long. In fact, you can pencil in the whole second half of November as being a major sales season.
The term "Black Friday" was used by local police in the north-eastern United States to describe crowds and traffic congestion that marked the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the 1950s. Over the next several decades, usage of the term spread throughout the US and eventually the world.
Retailers often begin offering Black Friday sales in the week leading up to 25 November.
You can expect to see Black Friday sales continuing at least until the end of November.
One way to tackle Black Friday is to head out into the internet and trawl through the litany of sales on offer. You could make use of coverage of the event from websites like Finder to ensure you're getting the best deals.
As long as you stick to using trusted websites and stay on the lookout for potential scams, you can rest assured that Black Friday deals are real.
